Kriska Transportation cited its commitment to safety and compliance as key drivers of their decision to upgrade to MCP100T. They first deployed Shaw Tracking’s OmniTRACS® mobile information system more than 15 years ago and continue to be an industry leader in implementing fleet management technology.

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO March 2, 2009 – Shaw Tracking, a Shaw Communications Company (TSX: SJR.B and NYSE:SJR), the leader in mobile communications for the Canadian Transportation industry, today announced that Kriska Transportation is upgrading its fleet to Shaw Tracking’s Mobile Computing Platform 100 terrestrial series (MCP100T).

Kriska Transportation cited its commitment to safety and compliance as key drivers of their decision to upgrade to MCP100T. They first deployed Shaw Tracking’s OmniTRACS® mobile information system more than 15 years ago and continue to be an industry leader in implementing fleet management technology.

“Kriska’s migration from OmniTRACS to MCP100T is providing us with significant benefits to our operations including reduced costs.  Onboard computing and applications such as Hours of Service were primary factors in our decision to transition to MCP100T. We are taking the initiative to be early adopters of electronic logs and believe there are cost benefits in addition to the compliance advantages.  For example our electronic log system will update our planning screens through our dispatch program.  We will have real-time visibility into a driver’s available hours prior to making a power to load decision,” said Glen Perkins, Director Safety & Compliance, Kriska Transportation. ”The MCP100T’s text-to-speech capability and in-motion screen blanking represent additional safety features which comply with the latest Distracted Driver laws.  Kriska strives to be a technology and safety leader in the industry.”

“Kriska’s decision to transition to MCP100T is a testament to our commitment to provide best-in-class wireless technology solutions that will meet their needs today and into the future,” said Mike Ham, Vice President, Business Solutions, Shaw Tracking. “Our primary focus is to offer our customers with the technology to improve the safety and efficiency of their fleet.”
